Supreme Court Judgement: Ondo APC sues for reconciliation

***Says, Both Parties are Family Members

The judgement of the Supreme Court over the case between Chief Olusegun Abraham and Arakurin Akeredolu both of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been described as a watershed in the quest for genuine reconciliation in Ondo State chapter of the party.

The State Chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, who made the submission further declared there was no victor; no vanquished, stressing that the two parties belong to a family.

The court decision, he contended, has come at a critical moment when the party is exploring every democratic and lawful means to ensure enduring reconciliation of all the tendencies within the fold.

Adetimehin said the judgement has created the elusive opportunity for Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Chief Olusegun Abraham to unite for the development of the State chapter of the party.

“Besides, the governor can now concentrate on policies that will further promote and enhance the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State”, he argued as he also warned followers of the two leaders to desist forthwith, from fanning the embers of disunity.

Adetimehin, who assured that a formidable machinery for comprehensive reconciliation would be set up shortly after the election on Saturday, March 9, to place the party on a new and stronger pedestal congratulated the duo on exhibition of a high sense of restraint and maturity while the case lasted in court.

The Supreme Court, sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday struck out the suit instituted by Chief Segun Abraham against Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), holding that Abraham failed to file his case within the stipulated 14 days after the cause of action.

Recall crisis occurred during the APC party primaries in Ondo State where Abraham disagreed with declaration of Akeredolu over was the real party candidate to contest the governorship election then.
